Jesus scuplture made from LEGO bricks

Made from nearly 30,000 LEGO bricks, 1.78 metre (5.8 foot) high scuplture.

It took the 40 volunteers about 18 months to put all the tiny plastic blocks together, and their creation shows a standing Jesus facing forward with his arms outstretched.

The Protestant church was filled to capacity with about 400 worshippers on Sunday when the statue went on display behind the altar, and some of the children in the congregation couldn't help but touch the white art work.

Church spokesman Per Wilder said the statue at the Onsta Gryta church in the central Swedish city of Vasteras (about 110 kilometres (70 miles) west of Stockholm) is a copy of Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen's "Christus" statue on display in Copenhagen.

He also said that even though the statue is all white on the outside, many of the donated Legos that the church received were of other colors and were placed inside.

The pastor said the statue would remain permanently at the church and there were no plans to sell it to raise funds.

This is also mean good news for us as LEGO fans all over the world.
Great sales and profit means the LEGO group is in healthy financial.
Healthy financial means they can keep producing great toys for us.
Althought seem they will not lowered their product price, still we can hope for more great themes and sets to come.
The LEGO group also has heard and listen to AFOL in this last several years about their product designs.
In future, we'll hope the LEGO company can keep their performance.
Then LEGO will be always our number one toy.
